ADELA FERNÁNDEZ

Born in Mexico City, Mexico in 1942. One of the most original short story writers in the Spanish language. Her dark and powerful stories inhabited by unforgettable characters haunt the reader’s waking and sleeping hours for a long time. Fernández work, in several fields like anthropology, history and folklore is always centered on her fascination with the most turbulent side of the human conduct. Her short stories deal with magic, psychic adventures, surrealism, desire, and death. She is the daughter of Mexico’s most famous, and arguably best, film director, Emilio “El Indio” Fernández.
