MYRNA NIEVES

MYRNA NIEVES is a writer, editor and educator. Considered one of today’s most important and influential Puerto Rican poets, Nieves directed the Winter Poetry Series at Boricua College in New York City for twenty years. Her books include Tripartita: Earth, Dreams, Powers (co-author), Libreta de sueños (narraciones), which received the PEN CLUB Award of Puerto Rico, and Viaje a la lluvia-poemas. She contributed her literary and editorial work to Mujeres como islas volumes I and II, featuring fiction and poetry. Her book El Caribe: paraíso y paradoja was published by the Puerto Rican Institue of Culture in 2012. A native of Puerto Rico, she currently lives in Brooklyn, New York.
