is one of Colombia’s most renowned photographers. At ninety-two and living in New York, he still carries a camera wherever he goes. Nereo began his illustrious career in 1952 when he worked as photographer for national newspapers El Tiempo and El Espectador. His camera has captured visits to Colombia by John F. Kennedy (with Jackie), Richard M. Nixon, as well as Pope Paul VI, among many others. When his friend and colleague Gabriel García Márquez traveled to Sweden to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, Nero was the photographer. He has received the highest honors that Colombia can grant an artist.

Nereo inició su ilustre carrera en 1952, cuando trabajó como fotógrafo para los periódicos nacionales *El Tiempo* y *El Espectador*. Su cámara ha capturado las visitas a Colombia de John F.
